Editorial Policy

Our commitment to accuracy, transparency, and genuinely useful content.

Our Editorial Mission

WordCount Pro publishes content about writing, SEO, text tools, and digital productivity. Every article has a single objective: that the reader leaves with something they didn't have before — a verified data point, an applicable technique, or a concrete answer to a real question.

We don't publish content to fill an editorial calendar, to rank keywords without adding value, or to meet a monthly article quota. If we don't have something genuinely useful to say about a topic, we don't publish it.

Who Writes at WordCount Pro

All blog content is written and reviewed by Oihan Mora, founder and developer of WordCount Pro. We don't use unmonitored external writers or publish contributor content without direct technical editorial review.

Research and Verification Process

Before publishing any data, statistic, or factual claim, we follow this process:

  1. Primary source required. Platform data (character limits, reading speeds, mathematical formulas) is verified against official platform documentation or academic research with published methodology.
  2. No paraphrasing third-party articles. If we find an article that already covers the topic, we don't just reword it. We only publish when we can add original perspective, additional data, or a practical demonstration with our tool.
  3. Technical verification of metrics. Any claim about the tool's behavior (Flesch-Kincaid formula, word counting, reading time) is verified with real tests in the tool before publishing.
  4. Cross-checking. Relevant statistical data (e.g., average reading speed, optimal article length) is cross-referenced with at least two independent sources before inclusion.

Policy on Artificial Intelligence Use

WordCount Pro does not publish articles generated entirely by AI. Our position:

  • AI may be used as an initial research tool or to help structure drafts.
  • All published content is reviewed, rewritten, and factually verified by the human author.
  • Opinions, examples, and perspectives are original from the author, not AI-generated.
  • If AI assistance is used in any part of the process in a specific article, it will be explicitly disclosed.

Content Updates

The digital ecosystem changes frequently: platform character limits update, search engine algorithms evolve, and research on reading and writing advances. Our commitment:

  • Review articles containing time-sensitive data (platform limits, engagement statistics) when significant changes occur.
  • Update the article's "last modified" date each time substantial content changes are made.
  • Explicitly note in the article if any data has become outdated between revisions.

Editorial Independence and Advertising

WordCount Pro is funded through Google AdSense advertising. We believe in full transparency about this:

  • Ads appearing on the tool and blog are automatically selected by Google. We have no editorial control over which advertisers appear.
  • Advertising revenue does not influence the topics we cover or the opinions we express.
  • We never accept sponsored articles disguised as editorial content. If we include sponsored content in the future, it will be clearly labeled "Sponsored Content" or "Advertisement".
  • We do not include affiliate links in editorial content. If this were to change, it would be disclosed with the appropriate label.

Corrections and Errors

If you spot a factual error, outdated data, or an incorrect claim in any article, we appreciate you letting us know. We commit to reviewing the report within 48 business hours and publishing a correction if the error is confirmed.

You can send corrections via our contact form, including the article URL and the specific error.

Privacy of Analyzed Texts

An important editorial clarification that distinguishes WordCount Pro from other tools: no text you enter in the tool is sent to our servers. All processing (word count, readability, SEO density) happens in your browser via local JavaScript. We never read, store, or analyze the content of your documents. This is not just a policy — it is a technical design decision.
