The Story Behind the Project

WordCount Pro was born in 2026 from a concrete need: to analyze text with precision in multiple languages, including readability scores and SEO metrics, without the text leaving the device. Existing tools had two problems: they were either too simple (just words and characters) or they processed data on external servers — a risk for confidential documents.

The goal was to build the tool its creator would have wanted to use: a complete real-time analysis dashboard, private by technical design (not just by policy), with advanced SEO and readability metrics built in.

Technical Methodology: How We Count Words

The WordCount Pro counting algorithm is optimized for accuracy across languages:

  • Delimiters: Regular expressions detect spaces, line breaks, tabs, and hyphens as word separators.
  • Character support: Full Unicode support including accented characters, ñ, ligatures, and diacritics.
  • Flesch-Kincaid: The standard formula (0.39 × words/sentences + 11.8 × syllables/words − 15.59) is used for English content. The Spanish version uses adapted coefficients (206.84 − 60.1 × syllables/words − 1.02 × words/sentences).
